The United States Federal Government was established for the support and defense of the people but the Federal Government views the people as there for the support of the government. Its as if the government has taken on a life of its own and is now willing to filch the people of their liberty as it usurps copious powers and authority that it was never intended to have. The Tea-Party is not a national movement concerning local problems. Rightly said it is many local movements regarding national issues.
To my knowledge the Williston Tea-Party (WTP) has had four rallies. The first rally had over 1000 people, the second had approximately 300 and the third had around 250 in attendance. I did not attend the last rally but it appears that the Tea-Party is losing momentum in Williston while it is gaining enterprise elsewhere in the country. I believe the WTP organizers mean well and are guarding the peoples movement from those who would try to seize control of it for their own selfish purposes. Although well intentioned the organizers have inadvertently smothered the movement by focusing it in the wrong direction (Locally). Although informative concerning local issues, the rallies are long winded and do very little to energize and unite the people. I’m not sure what the WTP organizers saw at the third rally but I saw the failure of a divided people. There were many in attendance that were more concerned with a particular local issue effecting them than for the greater good of the nation and our future. For example, one individual asked the Mayor why his father was not permitted to grow industrial hemp. What does that have to do with national problems that are effecting everyone? If he had asked what the Mayor would do or recommend to be done in order to restore the constitutional rites of the people it would have been a sign of progress. However, if the organizers of the WTP would have properly motivated and focused the people to the point that they with one voice asked what they could do to help restore liberty, that would have been the start of a successful movement.

Whether the WTP organizers know it or not they are in a leadership position and its time to crap or get off the pot. You may wonder who I am to say such things so I will tell you a little about myself. I am a fourth generation veteran of a foreign war whose grandfather is buried in Arlington Cemetery. More importantly, I am a husband and father of three young children. I do believe that the WTP organizers have done many positive things for the movement but more needs to be done.

I believe that we need to focus the people on issues that they already have strong feelings about. For instance we could remind them of the ground zero mosque, illegal immigration, and especially government controlled health care issues. Outrage can be a very powerful Positive Force for good if it is channelled and focused in the right direction (Nationally). The message needs to be about the people regaining control of a government that’s only purpose should be to serve and protect them. I challenge you to view the web-page: http://aussie-tea-party.com

We need to get more youth involved in the movement. It doesn’t matter if they are old enough to vote or not. The youth are the voters of tomorrow and are even more important to America’s future than a few political victories in the present. If we had special events set up for the youth then it could not only be a positive experience for them but might also attract their parents to our cause as well.

Must the many I’s resort to this or can We The People unite with the common goal of restoring our government to its constitutional form; for, by, and of the people?
